Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 during an Olympic event. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, met Comaneci at just the age of six. Comaneci competed for the first time in the 1969 national junior championships, placing 13th. The following year she became champion. When she competed in her first international contest in 1972, a pre-Olympic junior meet for the communist-bloc countries she took home three golds while in 1973 and 1974 she won the all-around junior championship. She topped Russian Lyudmila Torishcheva, the five-time European Champion at her first international senior championship in 1975. She received four golds, and a silver. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976 and became the first woman in history to complete the backward double salto in dismounting from the bar that is uneven. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was in her teens she started appearing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 within Chicago Illinois US. Carol first began her acting career when she was in her teens. In her early years she was the figure skater alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling show of entertainment Ice Capades. These shows included theatrical ice-skating performance.
