Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej currently Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian who scored a total of 10 at the Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi was later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, met Comaneci as she was only seven years old. She began competing in the national junior championships of 1969, finishing 13th. She did well in the 1970 competition. In 1972, in an international meet of communist country juniors before the Olympics, she won three gold awards. And in 1973, and 1974 she became the junior champion in all aspects. Her first competitive event as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she beat out Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning four gold and one silver medals. In 1976, she won the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games. She was the first female to ever dismount parallel bars using double backwards salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her first professional work was as an entertainment professional during her teenage years, when she appeared in an ice skating duo along with the sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois. Carol began her professional career in the entertainment business when she was a teenager. She began her career as figure skater performing with her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the touring entertainment show called Ice Capades. The show featured dramatized ice skating performances.
