Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12th, 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, (currently Onesti] Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast in history to receive a score of a perfect of 10 in an Olympic event. Comaneci was first discovered by Bela Karolyi and later became the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was six years old. She competed for the very first time in the 1969 national junior championships, placing 13th. After that she became champion. At her first international event in 1972, which was a pre Olympic junior competition for communist-bloc nations she won three gold medals while in 1973 and 1974 she was the junior all-around champion. In her first international competition as a senior in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion winning four gold medals and one silver. In 1976, she was the first female to complete a reverse double salo on the uneven parallel bar, as part of her demount. The American Cup was hers. at the American Cup, held in New York City. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began in the entertainment industry during her teenage years. During this time, she performed as the figure skating duo of Nina Wayne and her twin older sister Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6, 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol started her career in the field of entertainment as a teenager. In her early years she began her journey as the figure skater alongside Nina Wayne in the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. The shows featured theatrical ice-skating performance.
