Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 in the Olympic contest. Bela Karalyi discovered Comaneci at the age of six. Later, she would become the coach for Romania's gymnastics. In 1969, she participated at the Romanian Junior Olympics and placed 13th. She won in 1970. In 1972, in the communist nations' meet for junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she was awarded 3 gold and silver medals. Then in 1973 and '74 she was the overall junior champion. She took home four gold medals and one silver awards in her first international competition for seniors which took place in the year 1975. This was the first time that she competed as a senior. She took home the American Cup in New York City in 1976. She was the first woman in history to complete backward double salto as dismounting from the unbalanced parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. At the age of 13 she started appearing on travel shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on September 6 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol entered the entertainment business during her teens. She began her career as model skater with her younger sibling Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows named Ice Capades. They featured staged ice skating spectacles.
