Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born 12 November 1961 in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onestiin Gheorghe Gheorghiu dej, now Onesti Romania). She was first to achieve a perfect 10 during an Olympic occasion. Bela Karalyi came across Comaneci in the age group of six. Later, she would become the coach for Romania's gymnastics. She began competing in the national junior championships 1969 where she placed 13th. She won the competition in 1970. She took home three golds at her debut competition which was a junior Olympic meet in 1972. It was for communist-controlled countries. In 1973 and 1974, she became the junior all-around champion. At her first competition as a senior in 1975 she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva. She was the five-time European champion, winning 4 gold medals as well as one silver. In 1976, she became the first female performer to make the reverse double salo of the bar with a parallel unevenness as part of her demount. She was the winner in the American Cup, held in New York City. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her career began in entertainment at the age of her teenage years. During this time, she was the figure skating duo of the cousin Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a U.S. citizen born on 6 September 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her journey into the entertainment industry during her teenage years. Early on Carol was an ice figure skater in traveling shows Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They had ice-skating performances that featured theatrical shows.
