Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci, (born November 12 1961 Gheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu-Dej [now Onesti Romania) Romanian gymnast who was the first gymnast to be given a perfect score of 10 in an Olympic competition. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, met Comaneci as she was only 6 years old. Her first competition was at the national junior championships in 1969 placing 13th and she was the winner in 1970. She won three golds in her debut competition which was a junior Olympic meet in 1972. It was for communist-controlled countries. In 1973 as well as 1974, she became the all-around junior champion. In her first international competition with a senior team in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning 4 gold and one silver medals. In 1976, she was the winner of the American Cup at the New York City Olympic Games and was the first female in the history of sport to take off the parallel bars with the double backward salto. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. At the age of 13 she began appearing in touring shows like Ice Capades as a skater together with her younger sister Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol was a part of the world of entertainment during her teens. At the age of 13 she was a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They featured ice-skating performances that were accompanied by musical theatre.
