Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej Now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 during an Olympic event. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was six years old. Comaneci competed for the first time at the National junior championships. She finished 13th. In the following year, she was crowned champion. In 1972, during a meet of communist countries juniors in the lead-up to the Olympics she was awarded three gold awards. In 1973 and 1974 she was named the all-around junior champ. In addition, she won four gold and one silver in her debut competition as a senior and was held in the year 1975. This was her first time she participated as an adult. She was also the first female to complete the reverse double salo of the parallel bar that was uneven as part of her demount. She was the winner from the American Cup, held in New York City. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. She began her career in entertainment during her teenage years. During this time, she was a figure skating duo with Nina Wayne and her twin cousin Nina Wayne for the travelling entertainment program Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol first began her acting career in her teens. At the age of 13, Carol began as a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They featured staged ice skating shows.
