Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born 12 November 1961. She was the first Romanian to score a of 10 for the Olympic event. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach discovered Comaneci at just 6 years old. Comaneci participated for the first time at the national junior championships. She finished 13th. In the following year, she won the title of champion. In 1972, during the communist nations' meet for junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she was awarded three medals of gold. Then in 1973 and 1974 she won the all-around junior champ. In her first senior competition in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva, the five-time European champion who won four gold medals and one silver. She won the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman to perform a backward double salto as a dismount from the uneven bars that are parallel. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. The journey of Carol Wayne in the world of entertainment began when she was a teenager. Together with her twin sister Nina Wayne, she joined touring entertainment programs called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a US citizen born September 6, 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol began her career as an entertainer when she was a teenager. Her first job was as a figure skater, performing alongside her sibling Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around called Ice Capades. The shows featured ice skating which included stage performances.
